The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) participated in World Travel Market (WTM) Africa in Cape Town from 13-15 April 2026, alongside partners including Al Dahr Tours, Emirates, Expo City Dubai, Golden Sands Hotel Apartments, Jumeirah, Kerzner International, Top Travel Trip, and TripCarnival.

Dubai’s presence highlighted the strength of its tourism ecosystem, with stakeholders from across African markets engaging with partners to drive future travel demand. Marking its first standalone exhibition at WTM Africa, DET was recognised with the event’s “Best for Doing Business” Award.

The city’s participation at WTM Africa builds on a recent update from His Excellency Issam Kazim, CEO of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DCTCM), part of DET, reaffirming that Dubai remains fully operational, with tourism, hospitality and transport services continuing. In a video to the global travel trade, he highlighted strong coordination between authorities and industry partners to ensure visitor and resident confidence, noted that travel operations are functioning, and reinforced Dubai’s position as a resilient, open global destination. He also encouraged reliance on official sources for accurate information and expressed appreciation to all partners for their continued support.

Participation in leading global platforms such as WTM Africa reinforces Dubai’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships, driving tourism growth, and maintaining close engagement with key source markets. Dubai continues to navigate through unique regional challenges, maintaining its stability while also ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all residents and visitors.
