Labotessa Luxury Boutique Hotel reintroduces its Fragrance Boutique As South Africa’s First-Ever Diptyque Boutique

Cape Town’s Labotessa Luxury Boutique Hotel, known for its curated selection of fine fragrances, has officially rebranded its in-house boutique to exclusively feature Diptyque, making it South Africa’s first standalone Diptyque Boutique. This evolution enhances the hotel’s luxury retail experience, offering guests an immersive introduction to the world of the iconic French fragrance house.

Founded in Paris in 1961, Diptyque is celebrated worldwide for its exceptional craftsmanship and innovative approach to fragrance. The brand’s pioneering spirit, combined with its unwavering commitment to quality and luxury, has established it as one of the most iconic and aspirational fragrance houses in the world. Known for its signature scented candles, perfumes, and home fragrances, Diptyque is renowned for creating timeless products that go beyond scent to evoke memories and emotions. Every Diptyque fragrance tells a unique story, crafted with meticulous attention to detail. The brand’s dedication to excellence and its ability to capture a sense of place have earned it a loyal following of connoisseurs, tastemakers, and design enthusiasts alike.

In much the same way, Labotessa shares a commitment to excellence and to delivering an outstanding guest experience. The hotel’s focus on personalised luxury, paired with its historic yet contemporary setting, makes it the ideal partner for Diptyque’s artistry and sophistication. Both brands strive to offer an unparalleled experience, with attention to every detail to ensure each guest feels truly valued. This shared ethos of quality and refinement is reflected in the Diptyque Tea Experience, which Labotessa introduces as part of its new boutique offering.

The Diptyque Tea Experience is a one-of-a-kind sensory journey where Diptyque’s signature fragrances are paired with a selection of fine teas and small delectable bites, each inspired by the brand’s diverse scent profiles. Guests are welcomed with a glass of Cap Classique upon arrival at the boutique, followed by a brief guided tour of the Diptyque collection. The experience continues at the Labotessa Café & Terrace, where guests can enjoy a variety of teas and delicious bites, each chosen to match the fragrance themes. Priced at R650 per guest, the Diptyque Tea Experience includes the tour, a glass of bubbles, the tea and bites pairing, and a luxurious Diptyque gift bag valued at R1000. This experience is available at 11h00 and 14h00 daily and must be booked 24 hours in advance.

Labotessa is the only hotel in Africa to offer Diptyque guest amenities in its suites and one of only a handful worldwide to do so. The Diptyque Boutique, located at the entrance to the hotel next to the Café & Terrace, invites guests to explore a selection of Diptyque products, including up to 18 different fragrances in various sizes, as well as candles, home fragrances, body lotions, and soaps.

“We offer Diptyque products in all our rooms,” says Johan Du Plessis, Proprietor and General Manager of Labotessa. “Guests often fall in love with the products after using them in their suites — whether it’s the scent in the bathroom or the candles in the room. We’re excited to now offer them the chance to take that experience home with them.”

The Labotessa Diptyque Boutique promises an intimate and personalised experience, with expert staff available to guide visitors through the history and craftsmanship of the iconic French maison. Combining European elegance with the vibrant energy of Cape Town, the boutique provides an exceptional opportunity for both hotel guests and visitors to explore the best of Diptyque.

For guests at Labotessa, the opening of the Diptyque Boutique offers a perfect fusion of Cape Town’s fresh coastal breezes and the delicate fragrances of this world-renowned brand, creating a memorable way to remember a stay in the Mother City.
