Wilderness Touring Cape Town is proud to announce the launch of its latest signature experience: Cape Town’s Emerging Culinary Landscape – a dynamic and flavour-filled journey through the heart of the city, led by none other than Tristan Voss, foodie and manager of TTK (The Test Kitchen) Fledglings Restaurant, a project of renowned South African chef, Luke Dale Roberts, aimed at developing young aspiring chefs.

Cape Town continues to cement its status as a global culinary capital, thanks to a wealth of fresh, local produce, a new wave of homegrown culinary talent and proximity to one of the world’s most celebrated wine regions. This engrossing tour celebrates the city’s evolving food scene and the passionate individuals driving its next chapter.

Guests explore Cape Town’s Eastern side, downtown, and the vibrant V&A Waterfront with Tristan, stopping at famed confectionary delis, one of the world’s most acclaimed coffee shops, and also visiting the country’s oldest fruit-bearing vine, dating back to 1771. The experience includes tastings of traditional South African favourites at the lively Time Out Market, and a curated wine tasting that highlights the Cape’s award-winning winemaking culture – a product of its Mediterranean climate and unique terroir.

“Tristan guides guests through some of Cape Town’s iconic institutions that form the foundation of today’s celebrated culinary scene. They’ll meet the irrepressible Jacqui Bless, owner of Charly’s Bakery housed in a colourful Victorian-era building, indulge in irresistible desserts, and enjoy exceptional, freshly brewed coffee. Along the way, they’ll pass the southern hemisphere’s oldest fruit-bearing vine, savour authentic South African ‘bunny chow’ and ‘shisanyama’, and conclude the day with a curated fine wine tasting led by Kudzai at the Time Out Market. Cape Town’s culinary journey is nothing short of extraordinary – and this tour an absolute must”, shared Brendan McCarthy, Wilderness Touring Cape Town’s Operations & Product Manager. Wilderness Touring Cape Town continues to elevate its guest experiences, offering an expanded range of exceptional tours and enhanced service. With new vehicles and a thoughtfully curated selection of both legendary and unique experiences, there is truly something for every traveller – from first-time visitors to returning guests eager to explore more of Cape Town’s vibrant culture.
